Design of the Pen

The design of the Peshwa Pen draws inspiration from Bajirao’s martial prowess, leadership, and the cultural motifs of the Maratha Empire:

High-Quality Nikko Ebonite – Known for its durability and smooth finish, chosen to symbolize Bajirao’s resilience and strength of leadership. Its natural saffron-orange tone reflects the hues of the Maratha flag.Octagonal Shape – The pen is octagonal, with each facet representing the Ashta Pradhan, the council of eight ministers led by the Peshwa.

41 Grooves – Running across the pen’s body and cap are 41 grooves, highlighted in red, a striking tribute to Bajirao’s 41 undefeated battles. Each groove stands for a victory, a legacy carved in history.

Red Accents – Represent the Maratha armies’ sacrifices and the fiery determination that defined Bajirao’s leadership.

Structure of the Pen

Every element of the pen’s structure has been designed with symbolic meaning, connecting it to Bajirao and the Maratha ethos:

The Clip – Designed in the shape of a Danda Pata, a traditional Maratha sword and one of Bajirao’s favored weapons. A symbol of strength, speed, and precision in battle.

The Cap Band – Engraved with the immortal war cry “Har Har Mahadev”, echoing the devotion of Maratha warriors to Lord Shiva and their unyielding spirit on the battlefield.

The Top Finial – Features an engraved brass plate bearing Shivaji Maharaj’s Rajmudra (royal seal). This sacred seal ties Bajirao’s leadership to the enduring legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, reflecting the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Maratha Empire.

Brass Ink Well – Bajirao Edition

A finely crafted brass ink well that honors the legacy of Peshwa Bajirao I.

The body is engraved with Bajirao’s silhouette on horseback, carrying the Maratha saffron flag.

A durable ebonite cap seals the ink well, with a coin-slit mechanism for easy opening.
